Description

Audacious is a beautifully crafted 70ft Traditional narrowboat built by the highly respected Simon Wain and expertly fitted out by Rex Wain. Built in 1994, this characterful vessel showcases exceptional craftsmanship throughout, combining traditional charm with practical liveaboard comfort. At the heart of the boat sits a stunning Lister JP2M engine, fully stripped and rebuilt in 2023 with very minimal running hours since completion, offering both reliability and heritage appeal for enthusiasts and serious boaters alike.

Stepping inside, Audacious immediately impresses with her warm and authentic interior styling, featuring cedar flooring, pine tongue and groove lining, bespoke cabinetry and classic narrowboat detailing throughout. The boat is well equipped for extended cruising or residential living, benefitting from solar power, a generator, and a Morso Squirrel multifuel stove with back boiler, creating a cosy atmosphere all year round.

The galley is thoughtfully designed with excellent storage and practical workspaces, fitted with a Neptune 4500 cooker with two-burner gas hob, stainless steel sink and drainer, and a recently fitted Camper Cool fridge. A traditional pigeon box roof light floods the galley with natural light while enhancing the timeless feel of the interior.

Moving into the spacious saloon, the welcoming living area offers a comfortable double settee, table and chairs, a small bureau, built-in display cabinet and a Whirlpool 7kg top-loading washing machine. A second pigeon box above the saloon creates an airy, bright environment while adding another classic narrowboat feature.

A small occasional dinette provides additional dining space or a quiet area to relax with views across the water.

Accommodation aboard Audacious is both flexible and full of character, comfortably sleeping up to six people. The traditional boatman’s cabin is beautifully arranged with a classic range, drop-down table, cupboards and a cross-bed arrangement, preserving the heritage styling associated with traditional working boats. The master bedroom features a fixed double berth, generous storage, a double wardrobe and a dedicated airing cupboard housing the calorifier.

The bathroom is fitted with a shower, wash basin, cassette toilet with spare cassette and useful storage cupboards, offering all the practical facilities needed for comfortable life afloat.

Audacious is a truly distinctive traditional narrowboat, offering timeless craftsmanship, heritage engineering and practical liveaboard comfort in equal measure. A rare opportunity to own a beautifully maintained vessel with immense character and an iconic rebuilt Lister engine at its heart.
